Memories of 2019. The prototypes of motorized vents are assembled and ready to be installed into the ducts.
Thanks to Dmitry Gerber, an excellent R&D Engineer who did 3D modeling of our motorized vents. This motorized vent model probably looks simple in the picture, but it is months of hard work behind this.
To build this prototype version, we decided to go with 3D printing and PLA filament (vegetable-based plastic). It took approximately 24 hours to print all the parts of one motorized vent prototype. Just imagine, you have 32 vents on average in your home)))
The next step is assembling. It was our first experience in 3D printing, and we spent some time putting together the vent model and electronics parts.
Each vent has an ARM-based controller that supports ethernet connection and power over ethernet (PoE) supply.
These motorized vents replace standard in the duct boot and automatically direct the proper amount of airflow to each room.
